ENTHUSIASM
“Always want a deal, but never
need a deal.”
-Mike Ferry
Enthusiasm is totally overrated and underrated at the same time.
No one likes a phony that yells and gets excited all the time, but on the
other hand no one likes a deadbeat. Find the middle and be a chameleon.
Adjust your voice and your style to fit the customer? Turn it on
when you have to and shut up when you have to. In my experience,
it is very difficult to teach someone this because blabbermouths never
think that they are blabbermouths. It is easier to teach a relaxed
person to get more excited than to teach a loud, obnoxious person to tone
it down. The loud person is the Tiger or Bull by nature so good luck
changing their minds. Just find the middle.
Exude to your customer that you want the deal, but be confident enough
to show that you don’t need the deal. Desperation is a sign of being
broke. We all want to do business with the secure person who shows
genuine interest in our needs.
