HOW TO DISIPLINE SOMEONE (MANAGERS)
“The right time to show your
good character
is when you are pestered by somebody weaker
than you.”
- Jatakamala 3.13
Unlike popular belief, when you have an employee or assistant who screws
up, that is the time to praise them. Everyone needs a pat on the
back. However if problems persist than it is time to part ways.
Try this and the results will amaze you.
Mr. Harvey Mckay, CEO and owner of Mckay Envelope and author of Swim
with the Sharks, is the master of this. When employee screws
up he calls the person into his office and has them sit in his chair and
calmly asks; “What would you do if you were in my position?” He doesn’t
yell. He resolves problems accurately and gets to the meat
of the situation. This is not the military. People demand respect.
Give it and they will give it back!
