Conclusion

     And so Sam Tyldsley wandered from our sight to find his way alone.  We know not where or why, nor even if the choice was his, but he is gone and often too he is forgotten. This is well for so was his desire.  He often said, "My poems are but halfway written.  The other half lies within the reader."18  This latter half he held most dear.  It surely survives his fame.
     Perhaps the most common criticism of Tyldsley is that he remained too anonymous, thus becoming too vague for readers to grasp any meaning in his words.  Perhaps, as some critics say, he dwelt too long on thoughts he could not express.  Perhaps he felt that details would make his work exclusive.  Maybe it was something he ate...
